Finding Your Steam ID

Which identifiers work for linking your Steam account — and which one doesn't.

The easy way: paste your profile URL. In the Steam app: click your name (top bar) → View my profile → right-click anywhere on the page → Copy Page URL. Paste that into the link box — done.

Why doesn't my display name work? Display names (Steam calls them persona names) aren't unique — any number of accounts can share the same one, and anyone can change theirs at any time. There's no way to look up "which account is Rocket Wizard," so Steam doesn't offer one. Every other identifier above points to exactly one account.

Where to find each one

Profile URL — Steam app: your name → View my profile → right-click → Copy Page URL. In a browser: sign in at steamcommunity.com, open your profile, and copy the address bar.
Steam64 ID — if your profile URL is the /profiles/… kind, the 17-digit number at the end is your Steam64 ID. Also shown in the Steam app under Account details ("Steam ID").
Vanity name — only exists if you set one: Edit Profile → General → Custom URL. If your URL says /id/something, the something is your vanity name.

After you paste it

The site resolves whatever you enter to a Steam64 ID and shows you the matching display name — e.g. "Link as Rocket Wizard?" — so you can confirm it found the right account before anything is saved.

One more thing: profile privacy

Linking works regardless of your privacy settings, but for personalized recommendations the site needs to read your library and wishlist. In Steam: Edit Profile → Privacy Settings → set "My profile" and "Game details" to Public → Save. You can check your current visibility any time on your account page.
